In a tragic news, veteran Bhojpuri actor Vijay Khare passed away at 4 AM today, December 15. Known for his iconic role as Gabbar Singh in the Bhojpuri film industry, he had been battling health issues for some time and was undergoing treatment at Cauvery Hospital in Bangalore.

Reports indicate that his condition had been stable, but he suddenly deteriorated and passed away, leaving his fans devastated. Vijay Khare was a highly respected figure in Bhojpuri cinema, having acted in over 200 films and earning widespread admiration from both the industry and his audience.


Originally from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, Vijay Khare had settled in Mumbai, where he also ran the Vijay Khare Academy, an acting school. He gained fame for his roles in films such as Raijzada (1976), Ganga Kinare Mora Gaon (1983), and Hamra Se Biyaah Karba (2003), and will always be remembered for his powerful performances.

In 2019, he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his remarkable contributions to Bhojpuri cinema. At the award ceremony, he spoke about the evolving landscape of Bhojpuri cinema and the increasing involvement of the younger generation. Having worked on several projects in Muzaffarpur, he also recommended places like Manika Man for potential film shoots. Khare noted the decline in Bhojpuri cinema, once a rising force, and urged for action to revive its former glory. His lifetime achievement was celebrated by several Bhojpuri stars, including Ravi Kishan, Nirahua, and Manoj Tiwari.
