Whether it’s the latest update on Dev’s next film, the first poster of Srijit’s ‘Shah Jahan Regency’, two Bengali films travelling to international film festivals, the craze surrounding Raj Chakraborty’s ‘Adventures of Jojo’ or Soumitra Chatterjee’s shocking fake Facebook account to Prosenjit Chatterjee’s latest comment over the alleged politics in Bengali film industry; it was a week full of rumours and exciting news from the Tollywood industry. Dev turns his work mode on

Only last week he was in Iceland for a grand chilly vacation and now since his return to the city on November 2 Dev has turned his work mode on. It seems he has left behind the success days of ‘Hoichoi Unlimited’ and moved on to his next project. The Tollywood superstar recently uploaded a picture on social media in which you can see director Raja Chanda in a work discussion with the team. Dev captioned the photo: “Team Meeting for our next with @Surinder Films... will b working after almost 3 years with them...Finger.” Dev will be working with director Raja Chanda for his next opposite Rukmini Maitra.

‘Shah Jahan Regency’ first-look poster launched

After delivering back to back blockbusters ‘Uma’ and ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’, Srijit Mukherjee is all set to bring yet another masterpiece for his fans. Based on Shankar's best-selling novel ‘, Srijit's much-anticipated film is to hit the theatres in December. The first look poster of the film is already out and has sent the social media into tizzy with everyone going gaga over it. With a stellar cast including Abir Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Anjan Dutt, Swastika Mukherjee, Rittika Sen and Anirban Bhattacharya, fans can’t wait to see the official trailer of ‘Shah Jahan Regency’. Srijit took to his Twitter handle to unveil the first look poster of his next and captioned the picture: “After the twin blockbuster box office successes, critical acclaim and festival feathers of #Uma and #EkJeChhiloRaja, comes our next offering.”

‘Adventures Of Jojo’ first poster winning hearts

The first poster of Raj Chakraborty's upcoming ‘Adventures Of Jojo’ is out and it looks super adorable. The dreamy fairy tale like poster features two kids on an elephant in the jungle. The upcoming children drama has already sent the industry into a tizzy with almost every Tolly celeb going gaga over it. From Prosenjit Chatterjee, Srijit Mukherjee to Abir Chatterjee, all have sent best wishes to Raj. Joshojit Banerjee, son of popular television actor Joyjit Banerjee will be seen in the titular role in this movie which revolves around the exciting journey of how a little kid gets trapped into the magical world of the jungle and befriends the animals.

‘Uronchondi’ gets official selection at Jaipur Film Fest

After making it to the prestigious International Film Festival of India, another good news for Abhishek Saha’s directorial debut ‘Uronchondi’. The critically acclaimed road trip movie is an official selection at the Jaipur International Film Festival as well. Abhishek, who is incidentally actress Sudipta Chakraborty’s husband, is no doubt on a roll. Produced by Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee’s home production Nideas Creation, the film also set the benchmark for the young bloods of Bengali film industry. Newcomers Amartya Roy and Rajnandini Paul, the two protagonists, surprised everyone with their flawless acting and raw talent. National award winner Sudiptaa Chakraborty and veteran actress Chitra Sen received accolades as well.

Rituparna in a cross-border love story

After ‘Ekti Cinemar Golpo’, Rituparna Sengupta and Bangladeshi actor Arfin Shuvoo are ready to discover their ultimate true love - the love for food! Ranjan Ghosh floored everyone with his unique story in ‘Rongberonger Korhi’ and now he is back with ‘Aha Re’, a unique love story. “A rich Muslim chef from Dhaka (Arfin) and a middle class Hindu home cook (Rituparna), using their passion for food and culinary arts start a new journey of finding love. They connect through the art of making ordinary ingredients in an extraordinary way. This food movie focuses as much as on love as our tribulations in life,” said director Ranjan Ghosh while speaking about the plot.

Prosenjit not happy with Tollywood politics!

While Prosenjit Chatterjee's fans are all geared up for the release of ‘Bagh Bandi Khela’, the anthology thriller starring the Tollywood superstar, the celebrated actor himself seems to be discontent with how his Puja release ‘Kishore Kumar Junior’ was treated in the Box Office battle. "I would say Politics in Tollywood didn't let the film run in the theatres. Kishore Kumar Junior was doing well in the second week. But as we have seen in the past, politics spoiled everything. I don’t know the equations among producers,” explained the popular actor.

‘Abyakto’ to be screened at the Dhaka Film Fest

Arjun Dutta’s ‘Abyakto’ is already an official selection in Indian Panorama of this year’s International Film Festival of India and the 24th Kolkata International Film Festival. Now, the debutant director has something more to cheer for. The intense relationship drama has also been selected at the 17th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh which starts on January 10. The film will compete for the audience Cinema of the World award. Starring Arpita Chatterjee, Adil Hussain, Anubhav Kanjilal and Anirban Ghosh in the lead, ‘Abyakto’ is a touching story about the relationship between a mother and son.

Ritwick - Srabanti in a social satire

Abhimanyu Mukherjee's last directorial ‘Piya Re’ received mixed reactions from the audience and now he is ready to try something new. For his next, Ritwick Chakraborty and Srabanti Chatterjee have been roped in and the film is believed to be a social satire. The unusual pair will be seen as Alokesh and Meena, two people who are obsessed with their hair! The plot sees a twist when Alokesh (Ritwick) starts losing his hair after he applies hair oil. Camera will start rolling from later this month. The film is being produced by Surinder Films.

Soumitra Chatterjee’s fake Facebook account

Social media is filled with so many fake accounts of our favourite celebrities. Even the diehard fans get fooled by these profiles created by random people. The celebrities are also quite concerned about these. Recently, Poulami Bose, the daughter of Soumitra Chatterjee filed a complaint against such a fake Facebook account. "These fake profiles are making celebrities vulnerable. It should be stopped immediately," a worried Soumitra Chatterjee said. Actor Vikram Chatterjee also filed a complaint against an imposter posing as him on the social networking site recently.

Koushani Mukherjee was offered a lead role in ‘Bhootchakra’

Haranath Chakraborty whose last ‘Dharasnan’ featuring Rituparna Sengupta received mix reactions is already working on his next which is a horror comedy titled ‘Bhootchakra Private Limited’. This is a story of three friends which will be played by Soham Chakraborty, Gaurav Chakrabarty and Bonny Sengupta. Initially Koushani Mukherjee was offered a key role in the film but the actress, incidentally Bonny’s real-life girlfriend, decided to accept Pavel’s upcoming ‘Asur’ opposite Jeet. However, Srabanti Chatterjee and Rittika Sen are playing the female leads here. Among these two, one is expected to play a ghost.
