When Bolly met Tolly at a grand musical soiree

All roads led to Salt Lake Maitri Sangha on Sunday when legendary singer Asha Bhonsle, along with Daler Mehndi, Sudesh Bhonsle and Jolly Mukherjee, performed at the club's 30th anniversary celebrations.

Yesteryear Bollywood actresses Zeenat Aman and Dimple Kapadia, along with Amrita Rao, were the special guests for the evening.


We also spotted Tolly actors Yash Dasgupta and Mimi Chakraborty at the event.The venue was filled to capacity with everyone cheering for the singers as they performed on stage.First up was Sudesh Bhonsle, who rendered numbers like Sona sona, Tum kya jano mohabbat kya hai, Mehbooba mehbooba and Yamma yamma, among others.


This was followed by Asha Bhonsle, who was welcomed with thunderous applause. The audience swayed to all-time hits like Churaliya hai tumne, Yeh mera dil, Lag jaa gale, Do lafzon ki hai and Dum maro dum, crooned by Asha. “Kolkata is like my second home and I love coming back here.The people of the city are so warm and it's always a wonderful experience performing in front of them,“ said the singer.


One of the highlights of the event was when Zeenat Aman went up to the stage and shook a leg to Churaliya hai tumne. She said, “I've come to Kolkata many times, but after several years I'm sharing the stage with Ashaji at an event.“
The concluding act of the evening was by Daler Mehndi, who performed in Kolkata after 17 years. He had the crowd on their feet with his peppy numbers like Tunak tunak tun, Dardi rab rab kardi, Na na na na na re and a medley of other retro songs.
