Salil Chowdhury's children songs have been loved by all, across generations and now these popular songs have been transformed into a comic book titled ‘Gaane Gaane Antara’.
Just like Phantom or Tintin, the songs have been interpreted as stories in this book through illustrations. The notation at the end of the songs adds a different flavor to the initiative.
This is the first time a book has been released on Salil Chowdhury's children songs. November 19 was Salil Chowdhury's birth anniversary and this comic book marked the day as a tribute to the legend.
These songs in the voice of Antara Chowdhury are still popular among all. Hindusthan Record now took the initiative to publish such a book on four of these popular songs - Bulbul Pakhi, Na Dir Dir Da, Byangeder Gaan and Pujor Gandho Esechhe.
Salil Chowdhury's ‘Chhotoder Gaan’ was published from INRECO long back during late 70's. All those songs became immensely popular within a short span of time. The music maestro’s creations are etched in every Bengali music lover’s heart. This special book was published on November 14 at the historical building of Hindusthan Record. Antara Chowdhury, special guests like Pandit Tanmoy Bose, Payal Saha, Riad Saha on behalf of the music company and the students of Antara's children's music institute Surodhwani were present at the event.
Speaking about the initiative an emotional Antara Chowdhury said, "I am privileged being the daughter of a maestro who shook the music world with his great compositions. It is a blessing for me that I got a chance to sing some compositions my father Late Salil Chowdhury created for me - the ones produced by INRECO in the year 1977.Today I am honoured that four of the songs rendered by me are being released in a new concept exclusively for children.”
