Jeet Gannguli picks 5 of his all-time favourite songs

Jeet Gannguli shares with ETimes the five songs he is listening to right now and what makes these songs special. Read on…

2/6

‘Gaan E Mor Kon Indradhanu’ by Sandhya Mukhopadhyay

Composed by Anupam Ghatak and penned by Sri Gouri Prasanna Majumder, this song portrays all the seven colours of the rainbow through its awesome composition and lyrics. Sandhya Mukhopadhyay’s effortless mellifluous voice makes this song a gem.

3/6

‘Ai Dil E Nadaan’ by Lata Mangeshkar

This song from the Hindi film Razia Sultan, is so beautiful not only for its melody, arrangement, lyrics, and rendition but also for the pathos and loneliness that it brings to your heart. In short, the song brings to us the question that each one of us has been faced with -the deeper meaning of life which we often tend to forget in our pursuit of worldly pleasure and possession.

4/6

‘Dure Dure Kache Kache’ by Arati Mukhopadhyay

Though the song is from the 60’s era, 1969 to be precise, but the melody, arrangement, and sound design of the song all are so contemporary, it’s just unthinkable!

5/6

‘PyaarKa Pehla Khat Likhne Mein’ by Jagjit Singh

Wonderfully sung by Jagjit Singh in his sonorous voice, this song needs special mention because of its lyrics. In a time when we see relationships crumbling around us at the drop of a hat, this song reminds us that every relationship takes a lot of our love, passion, time, and most importantly—patience to work out.

6/6

‘Have You Seen My Childhood’ by Michael Jackson

This is one of my all-time favourite songs. This song appeals to each person, who has a child within him/her and is constantly searching for that childhood that has been innocent, carefree, and full of dreams.
