Surojit /Upal – ‘Praktan’ (2015)

Surojit, the former member of Bhoomi and Chandrabindu's Upal appeared in Shoboprsad-Nandita's box-office hit 'Praktan' in a train sequence. However, it wasn’t a guest appearance as both of them had a significant presence in this romantic drama and even contributed with their own stories in the main storyline.

Anupam Roy – ‘Jatiswar’ (2014) and ‘Praktan’ (2016)

It was director Srijit Mukherjee who gave Anupam his first break and the same person introduced him to the big screen in 'Jatiswar'. However, in Jatiswar, Anupam didn’t have any important dialogue delivery. But Prosenjit-Rituparna starrer 'Praktan' saw him playing a full-fledged role. Not just these two movies, he also appeared in a short film titled 'Amartya'.

Babul Supriyo - 'Chander Bari' (2007), 'Hitlist' (2009) and 'Ogo Bodhu Sundori' (2010)

He may be a busy politician these days, but the singer was once a pan India sensation lending his refreshing voice for songs like 'Dil Ne Dil Ko Pukara' in 'Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai' and since then delivered so many hit numbers both in Bollywood and Tollywood. He made his debut as an actor in Tarun Majumdar's superhit 'Chander Bari' where he essayed out the male lead character opposite none other than Rituparna Sengupta. Next, he was seen in a negative role in 'Hitlist' and again played the lead in the remake of 'Ogo Bodhu Sundori'.

Anindya Chatterjee - 'Subho Mohorot' (2003), 'Satyanewshi' (2013) and 'Praktan' (2016)

The renowned lyricist, composer, singer, and co-founder of 'Chandrabindu' Bangla band, Anindya Chatterjee first appeared in his friend and band-mate Chandril’s short film. However, it was Rituporno Ghosh directed 'Subho Mohorot' that introduced him as a full-fledged actor. After that, the popular singer was again roped in for 'Satyanweshi' where he played detective Byomkesh Bakshi’s companion Ajit. Interestingly, this thriller was also directed by Rituparno Ghosh. Anindya has been a key part in 'Jatiswar' and 'Praktan' as an actor too.

Monali Thakur - Krishnakanter Will (2007)

Monali was first seen in a television show at a tender age where she got the chance to show her singing talent. The established songstress was part of a Bengali film named ‘Krishnakanter Will’, where she acted as the second lead to Swastika Mukherjee opposite Tollywood superstar Jeet. She made a guest appearance in ‘PK’ also.

Kabir Suman - Ranjana Ami Ar Asbona (2011)

Kabir Suman is well-known for his 'Jeebanmukhi' songs, the socially conscious songs which amalgamate Bengali ethnic and western protest music and has established a new genre in Bengali music industry. He acted as Anjan Dutt's mentor in Dutt's 2011 film ' Ranjana Ami Ar Asbona'. The noted musician also made a special appearance in Srijit Mukherji’s critically acclaimed 'Jatiswar' which earned him the National Award for Best Music Direction.

Anjan Dutt – ‘Grihajuddha’ (1981), ‘Saheb Bibi Golam’ (2016), ‘Ami Asbo Phire’ (2018) and more

Anjan Dutt himself has always insisted that he wanted to be a filmmaker. But destiny had other plans for him. Despite receiving critical acclaims for his performance, the art-house actor didn't have any commercial hit in his initial days and decided to build a career in music and the rest is history. Lately, he tasted his success as a filmmaker for 'Byomkesh Bakshi' series, ‘The Bong Connection', 'Madly Bangali', and many more. He still continues to act in films that are largely content-driven and the ones that appeal to him.

Shyamal Mitra, Manabendra Mukhopadhyay and Dwijen Mukhopadhyay - Sare Chuattor (1953)

In this laugh riot from Bengali cinema’s golden era, not just one, but five renowned singers of that period essayed out the fellow residents of a Mess Bari and also lent their amazing voices for the classic song 'Amar E Jouban'. The film, the marks the first movie of Uttam-Suchitra pair, is still loved by every Bengalee. It is the only film that brought together these songsters in a single frame.
