What if these Hollywood suspense thrillers were remade in Tollywood?

Thriller movies are meant for the most fearless of movie fanatics. Instead of the blood and gore of horror films we usually see, thrillers are loaded with conflict, unexpected twists and tensions that will have you on the edge of your seats. From ‘Psycho’ to ‘Scarface’, over the years we have seen a wide range of plot lines in Hollywood that kept us hooked. Now imagine some of these Hollywood classics being remade in Tollywood and deliver a thrilling adaptation that will have us biting our nails throughout. Read on…

Always waited for the right script, story, character; Prosenjit about his role in web series Jubilee

'Psycho'

No doubt one of the finest – and most impactful –suspense thrillers ever been made, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho is a must-watch for all those thriller aficionados out there. Controversial at its time of release, the 1960 film saw Anthony Perkins as the legendary Norman Bates and Janet Leigh as the ill-fated Marion Crane. Just imagine what if Hollywood classic is remade in Tollywood? Who will you want to see as the director? Who will play Norman Bates and Marion Crane?

3/7

'The Good Nurse'

During her fight against a serious health condition, overstretched ICU nurse and mum Amy Loughren comes across one of the most ruthless serial killers of all time, Charles Cullen, in this nail-biting mystery drama. It is based on the real life incident of Cullen, who, between the 1990s and 2000s, murdered at least 30 people while working as a nurse. Loughren's new colleague (Cullen) seems to be selfless and a huge help to her initially but unexplained deaths eventually lead the silent killer to his fate. This one would be a great addition to Tollywood’s list of suspense thrillers. Tell us who would you want to see in the cast and who can direct this film with elan.

4/7

'The Clovehitch Killer'

The Clovehitch Killer is inspired by the harrowing events caused by 'BTK Killer' Dennis Rader, who once murdered 10 people between 1974 and 1991. The cases remained unsolved until 2005 when he unwittingly disclosed his identity to law enforcement. In the movie, a teenager's perfect family - or so it would look like - ripped apart by the distressing reality of a serial killer who lurks too close to home. Now, just think this film is being remade in Tollywood with Srijit Mukherji as the captain of the ship!

5/7

'Rogue Agent'

As far as we have heard of conmen making a name for them, Robert Freegard is well-known and sits with the most ruthless. This chilling film is the story of a devious swindler who pretends to be an MI5 agent and fraudulently makes his victims go into hiding. However, one woman, an astute lawyer Alice Archer falls in love with him, and then fiercely takes him down. We would love to see this classic Hollywood thriller remade in Tollywood.

6/7

The Gray Man

Ryan Gosling plays a shadowy highly-skilled CIA agent in this edgy action thriller and uncovers dark, incriminating agency secrets. A psychopathic former colleague of his then starts hunting him across the world, after being offered a payout for his capture. Chris Evans and Ana de Armas also star in the fast-paced action entertainer and it will be a treat to watch if the film is remade in Tollywood with Jeet playing Ryan’s character.

7/7

'Scarface'

Starring the legendary Al Pacino, this Hollywood classic tells the story of a resilient Cuban-born criminal who acquires control of a drug cartel and then falls victim to greed. Guess the result. It leads to a life of compulsion, mania and cruelty, and finally to menacing consequences. Here’s another one which can be remade in Tollywood with Dhrubo Banerjee being the director.
