Mimi Chakraborty’s next ‘Mini’ trailer creates a buzz

The trailer of Mainak Bhaumik’s film Mini is out now and it has already created quite a lot of buzz. The trailer gives us a sneak peek into the life of Titli, played by Mimi Chakraborty, an independent working woman. Her life turns upside down when she shoulders the responsibility of her teenage niece Mini, played by Ayanna Chatterjee, when her sister is admitted in the hospital. The story unfolds with the topsy turvy journey of their bitter-sweet relationship.

Saswata dreams of working with Amitabh and Naseeruddin

While Saswata Chatterjee’s latest release ‘Abbar Kanchenjungha’ has received appreciation from one and all his yet another much-anticipated film ‘Tirandaj Shabor’ is set to release on May 27. Meanwhile, in Bollywood Saswata has three films lined up – Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Bad Boy’, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dobaaraa’ and Razneesh Ghai directed ‘Dhaakad’ co-starring Kangana Ranaut. He has worked with some of the big names of Bollywood. Yet, Saswata wants to share screen with two of the most respected actors in Bollywood. “It will be a dream come true moment if I get a chance to act alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Naseeruddin Shah. They are the pillars of Indian cinema and acting institution. So, I wish someday I get an opportunity to work with Mr. Bachchan and Naseeer Ji,” revealed the seasoned actor.

Yash Dassguptaa urges all to give him privacy

Yash Dassguptaa’s mother Jayati Dasgupta passed away last Sunday, after suffering from kidney related issues for a long time. Incidentally, Yash, too, returned Kolkata on Sunday and his worst nightmare came true. His mother breathed his last after a heart failure on Sunday night itself. Not only Yash, Nusrat is also devastated after her mother-in-law’s demise as she was always by Yash’s side in the most difficult times. Meanwhile, the popular actor has requested everyone to give him and his family the much needed space privacy and to grieve at this moment.

Jaya Ahsan in Iranian director’s film ‘Fereshta’

Jaya Ahsan is set to play a pivotal role in acclaimed Iranian director Morteza Atashzamzam’s latest film ‘Fereshta’. The shooting has started in and around Dhaka in Bangladesh. The Iranian director and his four crew members are currently visiting several shoot locations in Dhaka including New Market, Jamuna Future Park, and Bashundhara among others. On Monday, Jaya started shooting along with actress Reekita Nondine Shimu in Bashundhara. A few stills from shooting went viral wherein both the actress can be seen riding on rickshaws. It seems both are playing slum dwellers in the film. In one photo, Jaya was seen carrying a three-year-old child in her arms. The Iranian team is expected to shoot for around 20 days.

Film on Mahasweta Devi’s life and work finally releases

Arindam Sil’s much-awaited ‘Mahananda’ finally released on Friday. The film, starring Gargee Roychowdhury, Debshankar Haldar, Isha Saha and others in key roles, narrates the story of a firebrand author named Mahananda whose personality has a lot of similarities with the life and works of Mahasweta Devi. When asked what he is trying to convey with ‘Mahananda’, especially when it’s inspired by Mahasweta Devi, Arindam explains this film is about her works, her philosophy.
