The pressure to look and feel perfect on one’s big day has turned fitness into a top priority for brides-to-be. From yoga to Zumba sessions, the wedding season now means rush hour for fitness trainers catering to brides who want to tone up for their wedding day.
Fitness Takes Centre StageAccording to fitness trainer Debu Haldar, brides are now not only working on their skin and hair but also focusing on posture, energy levels, and body language. “Many are incorporating yoga, stretching, and Zumba into their routines,” he adds.
Interestingly, dance workouts to have become a dual-purpose activity – helping brides stay in shape while preparing for mehendi performances.
Managing StressIn the bustle of a wedding, mental health is equally crucial. “Pre-wedding anxiety can disrupt preparations, and yoga is an excellent way to manage that,” says fitness enthusiast Agastya Singh.
Families, too, are getting in on the trend, but aren’t very consistent. “Family members often skip sessions amidst being busy with wedding preps,” says trainer Sumon Bhattacharjee.
Bridal boot camps – short-term, high-intensity workshops that cover diet to workout routines – are gaining traction. Yoga teacher Lipika Mukherjee stresses on hydration, eating fibre-rich food, and cutting down on sugar for long-term benefits.
