Tota Roy Choudhury’s fitness regime is inspiring to say the least. He’s one of the fittest actors in Tollywood. Yet, Tota found it tricky when he took the onscreen smoking challenge while playing the iconic sleuth
Feluda in
Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming series. Since he’s a non-smoker it was a bit difficult initially, admits the seasoned actor.
"The smoking part was a new challenge for me.
I am a non-smoker, but smoking like a chain-smoker during the shoot was intensely painful but I had to do it since I became the onscreen Feluda. You won’t believe it, I perhaps had to smoke almost 22-23 cigarettes each day and that too the filterless ones. I was so relieved to hear the last ‘cut’ and ‘pack up’ on the last day. I felt like oh! Finally it is over. I don’t have to smoke anymore,” shared
Tota but he’s fully satisfied with his performance and is now eagerly waiting to see the audience's reaction.
Srijit Mukherji is all praise for Tota as well and at the same time thankful to him for giving the director his dream Feluda whom he can direct. “Tota not only is the ideal match physically but his personality also matches the iconic sleuth. Be it the never-say-die attitude or his supreme fitness, everything matches Feluda,” said the director who is equally excited to see how the audience responds after watching ‘
Feludar Goyendagiri’.
While Tota plays Feluda, actor
Anirban Chakrabarti will be seen as Feluda's accompaniment
Lalmohan Ganguly aka Jatayu and
Kalpan Mitra as Topse in this series based on
Satyajit Ray’s yet another popular Feluda story ‘Darjeeling Jawmjawmat’. The online streaming starts today (June 17) and the entire team is looking forward to seeing how people respond to it.
