The shoot of Ardhangini has started!

The shoot of Kaushik Ganguly’s Ardhangini started on Monday. The film, also scripted by the director, stars Churni Ganguly, Jaya Ahsan and Kaushik Sen in the lead. Earlier, it was speculated that Kaushik Ganguly himself would play the role.
The film revolves around two women involved in a man’s life — his ex and present wife. Circumstances bring them together and Ardhangini is about what happens thereafter. Kaushik Sen, who was in the US recently, said he got the final script ahead of staging a play there. Talking to us then, the actor had said he was part of the director’s earlier film, Shunyo E Buke and even did a cameo in Drishtikone, a film starring Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta, was keen to work with him further. “When he called, I told him that the shoot will be around the time that I need to travel extensively. But he said he’d manage the dates. That’s what happened,” he had earlier told us.
Jaya, who returned from Bangladesh on Saturday after winning the fourth National Award in her country for a powerful performance in last year’s release, Debi, said she was excited to collaborate with the director further. This year alone, Jaya has already had a release — Bijoya — with Kaushik Ganguly. It was the sequel to Bishorjon and features Jaya as Padma, Abir Chatterjee as Naseer Ali and Kaushik Ganguly as Ganesh Mondal. On the work front, Jaya’s film Robibar with Prosenjit Chatterjee will release soon. She is also part of another fantasy film, Bhoot Pari. Anil Kapoor was called the ‘thaile wala actor’
