Ranjan Ghosh’s upcoming social drama ‘
Rong Beronger Kori
’ deals with the issue of demonetisation as four different yet connected stories combine the narrative. The film is slated to release on March 23.
The ensemble cast of the film includes
Soham Chakraborty,
Arunima Ghosh,
Rituparna Sengupta, Ritwick Chakraborty,
Kharaj Mukherjee, Arjun Chakraborty and Ritobroto Mukherjee in pivotal roles. Both Rituparna and Arunima will be seen in double roles in two different stories of the film.
The trailer of ‘Rong Beronger Kori’ was recently released and it introduced all the lead characters in different looks, especially Soham. So far we have seen the popular actor in rough and tough looks but for the first time, Soham will be seen as an average village lad in the upcoming social drama. No doubt it’s a brave move from him, given his image as a glamorous Tollywood hero.
Initially, Ghosh faced some protests from the Hindu Jagran Mancha in Kolkata for naming two of the lead characters Ram and Sita in the film. However, it was later resolved as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film without any cuts.
