Despite not being the conventionally glamorous or commercially on high in demand person;
Ritwick Chakraborty’s acting brilliance, his unique choice of films and individuality has helped him create a completely different niche for himself. ‘Shaheb Bibi Golaam’ saw him in a serious role, in ‘Macher Jhol’, he won many a million hearts as a chef and now in Pratim Das Gupta’s ‘Ahare Mon’, the versatile actor has been cast in a whole new avatar as a flashy thief opposite Parno Mittra. Ritwick has become director Pratim’s obvious choice.
Speaking about how he gained the trust of the director, Ritwick said, “It feels great to work with Pratim. He prefers actors who follow the script thoroughly and I am a keen follower of what the director wants. It’s the script Pratim uses that attracts me. We are character artists. The script doesn’t follow us, rather we follow the script. Character artists are always cast based on the script.”
Up next for Ritwick is Supriya Sen’s ‘Kanya’ which has
Parambrata Chatterjee and
Arunima Ghosh in the lead. Ritwick will be seen as a senior reporter in the film.
