Rituparna Sengupta, all excited about
Kaushik Ganguly’s Drishtikone, which is releasing today, said a lot of the credit for bringing the celebrated screen jodi of Prosenjit and Rituparna goes to directors
Nandita Roy and
Shiboprosad Mukherjee. “I had taken three decisions when we were thinking of making a comeback. First, it had to be in a Shibu-Nanditadi film. Second, it had to be made by an independent producer and third, it had to have content that would do justice to us.
Praktan ticked all the boxes. Shibu and I are best friends and over the years, when we would discuss films, the comeback of Prosenjit-Rituparna played an important part in those discussions,” she said. Rituparna added that after Praktan, she was flooded with film offers but she decided to be choosy. “I had not worked with Kaushikda before, but I loved his films. There’s a certain sensibility in his films that touch your soul. I really wanted to work with him. Also, I was hooked to the story of Drishtikone,” she added.
