Praktan changed lives: Rituparna Sengupta

This is my second Filmfare award and I'm elated. Last time when it was held in Kolkata, I bagged it for Alik Sukh and this time I've lifted it for

Praktan

-- both the time my best friend's film fetched me the coveted Black Lad that everyone wants to hold! If last year it were held, I could have contested for

Rajkahini

as well. But it's overwhelming to say the least -- especially because I've won it in the critics category.

Honestly though, I wished Praktan had won many more awards. It deserved it. The film has changed lives, the way lovers look at relationships, the meaning of marriage for many. And that is my biggest takeaway from the movie. Imagine when a movie you have worked in has that kind of an effect on the audience's mind? It's so amazing!

The fact that my portrayal dominated people's mind and ruled their hearts is, in itself, a big achievement. The film not only saw huge commercial success but also won over the audience. I really wish it had won the award for the best film and the best screenplay too. Praktan had a deep impact on its audience's mind. I'm very happy and would like to congratulate the whole team for it!
