It's not easy being a star. Certainly not, when you are just eight years old. For

Argha Basu Roy

, who plays the title role in director-duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee's Posto, the buzz is unprecedented and frankly, at times, annoying. With Kolkatans lapping up the film,

Argha

aka

Posto

's popularity is hitting the roof ! When we asked if he's enjoying all the attention, a slightly miffed Argha retorted with a counter question, “I am the same Argha as I was before. Why then, am I being treated differently?“ The innocent eight, unaware of the fact that he's carved a place for himself in the heart of every cinegoer, is seldom going out these days. The reason, you ask? People will recognise him and would want to be clicked with him! When we asked him if he knows the reason behind the unending selfie requests, he said with a smile, “Why , they will show it to their friends and family . They'll say , `Look, I have a picture with Posto!“ He even had a fight with his playmates after they started calling him Posto, but the matter, he said, has been sorted now.

In real life, Argha finds similarities between him and his reel-life character, Posto. Except for one thing. On being asked if he is as naughty as Posto in real life, he said, in a matter-of-fact way , “You should ask my mother that.“ The audition process for the film hasn't been a bed of roses.Argha was chosen from 1,200 kids and underwent months of workshop to get the character right. A quick learner, he learnt to sing

Rabindrasangeet

and play the tanpura and harmonium in just one and a half months. He even learnt the script by heart making sure he didn't falter often. He has been too engrossed in the film to be affected by the stardom. Director Shiboprosad Mukherjee was all praise for the boy . “I have never seen such a spirited kid. He plays the title role yet is unaffected by the constant fan frenzy! This simplicity, I believe, is a rare quality. He will go a long way ,“ he said.

For now, Argha is just trying to dodge selfie requests, albeit, with a wide smile. But no matter how oblivious he is to his stardom, little Argha rules both the matinee and the hearts of thousands of Bengalis. We can't get over him!
