Kaushik Ganguly has sarcasm dripping down his lips while reacting to National Award jury member

Sanjib Datta

saying that '

Sankhachil

' and '

Cinemawala

' are not upto the mark.

Said Ganguly, 'I have read his comments stating that my film wasn't up to the mark. He is my esteemed colleague from the film industry but does he know that 'Cinemawala' has won the

Fellini UNESCO award

at

IFFI

last year? I was the first Indian to win the award. An international jury sat through 12 international films to choose 'Cinemawala' as the winner. Having read Sanjib's comments, I am wondering if he can offer me some guidance on how to improve my craft.'
'Baahubali' is a better film than 'Sankhachil,' 'Cinemawala,' says National Award jury Sanjib Dutta
Ganguly also asked Datta to suggest whether he should return the Fellini UNESCO award to the international jury members or not. 'Sanjib has studied at FTII. It is the premiere film institute of the country. I value the vast knowledge of cinema that FTII must have imparted to him. Since he thinks my film isn't upto the mark, should I then return the international award to the jury? I will certainly discuss this idea with my family. It will feel terrible to return the medal but I will still do so because I trust Sanjib's judgement. After all, he has enlightened me by saying that my film isn't up to the mark.'

In future, every time Ganguly decides to write a screenplay, he intends to jog his memory and remind himself of Datta's comment. 'Every time I sit to write a screenplay, I will remember his interview. I will try to write a film that's upto the mark.'
