Karisma Kapoor and daughter enjoy jazz, spaghetti bolognese at iconic Park Street venue

We had recently reported that Karisma Kapoor started shooting in Kolkata more than a month back for Abhinay Deo’s crime series. Titled Brown – The First Case, the series is based on Abheek Barua’s book, City Of Death, and also stars Surya Sharma. On Sunday afternoon, the actress was spotted at an iconic restaurant on Park Street. The actress was there with her daughter Samaira and others during lunchtime.
A source close to the restaurant told us, “Samaira was already eating there with a group of people when Karisma came in and briefly joined them. She was there to pick her daughter up. Karisma was very impressed by the jazz band, which plays at the restaurant on weekend afternoons. She took selfies and photos with her fans and friends inside and outside the restaurant.” From spaghetti bolognese to mutton rogan josh, kali dal and kulcha – a host of dishes was served at the table. “Karisma, too, tasted the food and loved it,” added the source.

The restaurant’s manager, Sonu Sharma, said Karisma was “very happy” to see the band perform. “She went up to speak to them and thank them for their music. We are touched by her humbleness and recall the time when her father had come and enjoyed a meal at our restaurant way back in 2014,” he added.
Sharing his excitement, Willie Walters from the band Willie Walters Quartet said, “At first, we didn’t realise that Karisma Kapoor was in the restaurant as we were busy playing. But we were wondering what the crowd surrounding her table was all about. We thought somebody had picked up an argument or fight (laughs)! Then suddenly, she came up to us on the stage, hugged our lead singer Aneesha and praised us for our music. She said that we are amazing and wanted to click pictures with us. She is extremely humble and grounded.”

We also heard that Karisma and her children, who are in Kolkata now, went on an AC tram ride on Friday, and the actress enjoyed gazing at the city's iconic architecture.
Last month, the actress indulged in a traditional Bengali lunch at a restaurant in Chowringhee. A source from the eatery told us, “Karisma ji is extremely nice and down-to-earth. She tasted several Bengali delicacies, including crab masala, bagda chingri shalmi, daab chingri and kosha mangsho. She loved it.”
