Prosenjit Chatterjee, who is ruling the industry for the past 30 years bagged the Best Actor (Male) Award for
Shankachil
at the Jio
Filmfare Awards
East 2017 on Saturday. The actor shared his feelings with us post the win...
“An award is always welcome as it gives anyone more impetus to do more good work. On the very first year when
Filmfare
was held in Kolkata, I received an award – this is my second and it is a matter of great honour. I feel overwhelmed by the love and encouragement. But I feel Dev,
Jisshu
,
Abir
who were nominated in the same catergory are equally deserving of the award. We all are working hard to keep our audience entertained with good meaningful films."
Prosenjit Chatterjee (second from left), who was adjudged the best actor in a leading role (male) for Goutam Ghose’s Shankhachil, said he would be happy to share the Black Lady with the other nominees Abir Chatterjee, Jisshu U Sengupta and Dev. “We can keep her for three months each,” said the actor amidst a thunderous applause at the awards
Talking about his role in Shankachil, that went on to fetch the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali, the actor admitted that it was indeed a difficult film and the character was not an easy one to portray on screen. “But then again, I love challenges. Simple roles do not attract me anymore. Any character which challenges me as an actor, I am game for it.”
The actor receives the award from veteran actress Moon Moon Sen
About the awards he's won so far, the actor said, “You can’t count blessings and to me, awards are audience’s love and blessings,” said the superstar. We can't agree more!
