While big screen outings are keeping him engaged, the actor is not ignoring the pull of the small screen either. Rajatava, who was last seen on

television

in 2009, will soon be back on the small screen. Confirming the news, he said, “I am part of a science fiction. But I can’t disclose anything further right now. The

serial

will have limited episodes,” he said.

On

Tuesday

morning, he shot a commercial with director Amit Sen for a steel bar major. “We shot the commercial at Amit’s house,” said the actor on his way back home. Meanwhile, two films of the actor — Mukhomukhi and Jakkala — are releasing on the same day. “The two films are poles apart. While Mukhomukhi is an experimental film that deals with self-introspection, Jakkala is an out-and-out comedy starring Kharaj Mukherjee, Mousumi Saha, Sumanto Mukherjee and others,” he said.

In Mukhomukhi, celebrated author Isha reads out a story to her partner Agnibha that features the strained relationship of a married couple — Anasuya and Shaunak. Midway, Agnibha stops Isha. Rajatava, who plays Agnibha, decides to twist the story himself by bringing in a ‘magic real’ character called onnyo manush (an outsider to our society). “The film has a lot of theatre elements in it,” he added. On the theatre front, he will soon be seen in a new play titled Aparajita. The first show will be in Malda on February 5.

A day later, the actor will be leaving for Vizag to shoot for Nehal Dutta’s film starring Hiraan and Tulika Basu. “After Nehal Dutta’s film, I will start shooting for Arindam Bhattacharya’s yet-untitled film starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Tnusree Chakraborty. I play an encounter cop in this thriller. I loved Arindam’s Antarleen and Flat no 609. After that, talks are no to begin work on Kamaleswar Mukherjee’s next and Partha Sarathi’s film starring Ritwick Chakraborty in the lead,” he said.
