'I'm nothing like Pooja Gandhi'
Pooja Gandhi has worked twice as hard for her new film ' quite literally. For the first time in her career, the Mungaru Male actress is doing a double role in Naa Rani Nee Maharani, a remake of the Malashri hit Rani Maharani.
'The film was shot in 27 days and it was hectic. We worked day and night and I had to keep changing my entire look to portray each of the double roles,' Pooja tells TOI.
The characters Pooja plays in the film are named Rani and Pooja Gandhi, which prompts us to ask whether she's anything like her namesake in the film.

'Not at all. In fact, I'm more like Rani. Rani is an outspoken village girl, very restless and full of life. Pooja is simple, elegant, a bit sad and a very shy person,' reveals the actress. In fact, the stark differences between the characters kept Pooja on her toes throughout the shoot. 'I had to be very alert and keep the body language of each character in mind when I was making the switch,' Pooja tells TOI.
While a film's opening weekend sees its stars attending red-carpet premieres, Pooja decided to hold a special screening of the film a few days ahead of its release for the first 100 of her fans who got in touch with her on a social networking site. 'I used to get a lot of messages from my fans on the site and I thought this was the right time to meet them. The response was awesome. I got more than 200 requests in one hour. All of them were very sweet,' says Pooja.
While Sandalwood's keeping her busy, is there anything lined up in Bollywood? 'As of now, there is nothing that I'm working on for B-town. However, a few things might open up next year,' she says.
