I am leaving no stone unturned to prepare myself for Gumnami: Prosenjit
Prosenjit
Chatterjee is spending a rather busy Sunday. Theactor
is prepping forSrijit
Mukherji’s Gumnami, shooting of which starts from May 28. The cast and crew will fly off toNorth Bengal
on May 31. “I am getting ready for the film. From the body language, acting to the makeup — I am leaving no stone unturned to prepare myself for the film. It is not easy to play a character like Subhas Chandra Bose — a hero who had a great personality,” said the actor. The film was being criticized by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grand-nephew Chandra Kumar Bose, who said that no one can claim that Gumnami was Netaji in disguise without any evidence. She also alleged that Srijit has said he will make the movie even if he is sent to jail for it.
Prosenjit, whose son Trisanjeet is in town, is not getting much time to spend with him. “Yesterday, I was addressing a meeting at Technicians' Studio and the agenda was to address the critical financial crisis that the TV industry has been facing for months now and it took a lot of time. More than 380 technicians, actors and vendors, some of whom are still part of serials like Jai Baba Lokenath, Ami Sirajer Begum, Khonar Bochon, Mahaprabhu Shree Chaitanyaand, Pratham Pratishruti, are yet to get their dues. Incidentally, all the serials were earlier produced by Rana Sarkar’s company, before the channel asked other production houses to take charge. It is being said that the total amount due is around Rs 4 to 5 crore. It pains to see that no one is ready to take the responsibility- neither the channel nor the production house of Rana Sarkar. After the press conference on Saturday, Rana Sarkar has sent a mail where I hear he has given a NOC to the channel to pay the dues to the artists- I haven’t seen the mail yet and can’t comment before I talk with the members of West Bengal Motion Picture Artists Forum. All I want is that the huge dues of the artists, technicians and vendors have to be settled immediately as they all have to run a family,” said the actor, while entering the studio to attend the meeting.
