Director duo
Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha’s next offering ‘Samsara’ revolves around three young men Atanu, Chandan and Vicky played by
Ritwick Chakraborty, Rahul Banerjee and Indrajit Chakraborty respectively. The story starts with these tree friends meeting after almost 20 years.
Atanu is a struggling writer who has a writer’s block. He wants some monetary help from his two friends who are quite successful in their lives.
The trio decides to take a trip and embark on a long journey together but what happens next starts to unravel many hidden secrets and true meaning of friendship.
The film was first shot in Kolkata for 11 days and then in next 7 days it was shot in several rural locations of Meghalaya. Speaking about the experiences of shooting in Meghalaya, Sudeshna said: “During the day the spots we shot at were too hot but the moment you take off warm cloths it feels so cold and in the evening the temperature drops suddenly with chilly winds. But it was fun shooting there. The film has so many twists. People will be able to relate to the story as well.”
Beside Rahul, Ritwick and Indrajit, the film also stars Sudiptaa Chakraborty, Devlina Kumar, Ambarish Bhattacharya,
Samadarshi Dutta among others.
‘Samsara’ is expected to release in July.
