Ghose’s last Hindi film, Yatra, which released in 2006, was about a celebrated author’s journey to his past and featured Nana Patekar, Rekha and Deepti Naval. Said a source close to the unit, “Goutam Ghose is currently shooting his film at a location, which is 25 km from Ranchi. The director has neatly kept the story under wraps and to maintain secrecy, he is shooting at a remote location. He began shooting on July 31.” We get to hear that the film is about a subaltern character.

Incidentally, the

government’s film policy to develop and promote the state as a sought-after filming destination has lured several filmmakers to shoot their films in the state. Srijit Mukherji too had shot parts of Begum Jaan in Jharkhand. Even though the cast of Ghose’s film is not known yet, the director kept himself busy over the last two years collaborating with other directors in the capacity of an actor. Only this year, he was seen in a negative role in Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds and closer home, played an interesting character in newcomer Dhrubo Banerjee’s Guptodhaner Sandhane. One Day in the Rain will be Ghose’s sixth Hindi film.
