Well, now a short film titled ‘Gauri’ has been made to celebrate the spirit of Maa Durga. Directed by

Tanisha Mallick

and Chakraborty, it also tries to show unexplainable, divine interventions do happen even in the 21st century. The film stars Tanisha Chakraborty and Badhisattya Majumder in pivotal roles. While the camera works are by Shantanu Bej and Sanjib Das, it’s edited by ‘Shibam Samanta. The film will soon be released across digital platforms.

The story revolves around Bibek, a journalist from Kolkata. He often sees a young girl inside a kash bon in his dreams and he desperately searches for the identity of the girl. Incidentally, he visits a village for his article on Durga Puja in villages. Interestingly, when Bibek visits his friend Rajat’s place in his village he comes across the girl he used to see in his dreams but the girl disappears within minutes. Bibek then finds out the girl is the daughter of a priest and he’s left in shock to know the whereabouts of the young girl. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
