Birsa wishes brother Ribhu on his new journey
Kolkata boy Ribhu Dasgupta is on a roll. The director forayed into films with Michael (2011) and later directed Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya balan in Te3n (2016). And now, after three years, he is set to direct Parineeti Chopra in the official remake of The Girl In The Train.
Parineeti, who will soon play the lead in the Saina Nehwal biopic, took to social media to make the announcement of the film. She posted a monochrome picture of herself and captioned it as, ‘Hopping onto this thrilling ride! Excited to be a part of #TheGirlOnTheTrain’s official Hindi remake.’ The actress will reportedly get under the skin of an alcoholic divorcee, who ends up investigating a crime scene. The film, slated to release in 2020, is based on Paula Hawkins’ 2015 runaway bestseller, The Girl On The Train. The original film was directed by Tate Taylor and starred Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Luke Evans and Justin Theroux. Emily was nominated for a couple of prestigious awards in Hollywood for her role in the film. Today, Ribhu’s brother, Birsa Dasgupta, took to social media to wish him luck. “After 'Michael' with Naseeruddin, Mahie Gill.. 'TE3N' with Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui.. 'Bard of Blood' for Netflix, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment.. my brother Bilbo (Ribhu Dasgupta) begins to make his next 'The Girl on the Train' starring Parineeti Chopra, being produced by Reliance Entertainment. We the 'Dasgupta Brothers' work with the best from our respective industries.. one of us operating from the west of India, the other from the east. Happy to keep the filmmaking tradition of our family alive and kicking," he wrote.
