Be it the ringing of bells, beating metal plates or clapping, people all across India on Sunday showed their appreciation for the medical and other essential staffs who are battling against the novel coronavirus.
The clanging sounds got bigger in the air at 5 pm as people in their balconies, lawns and terrace gathered following an appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express solidarity with doctors, nurses and others in essential services, as the entire nation went through an unprecedented 'Janta Curfew' to contain the spread of the virus.
The Bengali film industry too showed full support of Modi’s call to appreciate the professionals on work during the coronavirus pandemic. Many such as Dev, Rukmini Maitra, Tota Roy Choudhury clapped, rang bells and even blew conch to express solidarity.
