Barshali and team wrap up shoot in six days

’s Darling Wife. The film, a horror thriller, has three main characters – Aman played by Amitabha Acharya, Pari played by Ankita Chakraborty and Pinki played by Ushasie.
The story is revolves around Pari, who is married to Aman and has a domestic help named Pinki. After their marriage, Pari starts experiencing strange visions and smells in her house but cannot explain the reason behind these. As the story unfolds, it’s revealed that before getting married to Aman, Pari had a relationship another man, who committed suicide after hearing about her marriage. “The story has the look and feel of a horror story in the beginning, but then, the narrative takes a very dramatic turn leading to the revelation of the real reason behind Pari’s condition,” Barshali told us, adding that Ushashie’s character, Pinki, is pivotal to the storyline, as she is the one who helps Pari cope with the situation.
The film’s shooting mostly took place on the outskirts if Kolkata and it took the cast just six days to complete the shoot. The film has just two songs. According to Barshali, they have shot sequences to go with the songs, which have not been composed yet. She told us that the songs and the composer would be finalised once the film goes for editing. This is Barshali’s second feature film; she had earlier directed a Bengali film, Jenan, in 2016 that talked about transgenders and their struggle for existence. Jenan starred Priyanka Sarkar, Sampurna Lahiri and Saswata Chatterjee in important roles.
