There was nothing remarkable about Zeher except the song Woh Lamhe, we can understand what the small budget Tolly version is like, minus Woh Lamhe.
Sourav (Rohan) is a tough cop who opens the film with a very dabangg, "Toder bap eshe geche, choddo purushke lagbena." And ideally should have stopped there. But keeps on saying 'osanti' and 'boyes' and 'dishishon'. We gather he missed out on the diction class. Thankfully he has a semblance of acting skills, some grooming might yet see him through. He loses out big time while sharing screen space with Rajatava, the mafia, specially during the showdown at the police station. Unable to bear his accent, er, his attitude, wife Arunima leaves. Enter, Nimisha, who seduces him by lying spreadeagled like a dissected toad in junior biology class. Skin show also takes talent, the lady would do good to learn from a similar scene done by our Bipasha Basu. We are not getting into Hollywood comparisons. There's lot of fierce kissing on her part and she calls Sourav 'sooooorub'. Our advise, first learn to act, then put up a fake accent.
Arunima has tried her best to salvage the situation, her heartbreak at husbands misbehaviour is spotaneous. However she still hunches her shoulders in a typical way, we think a back problem is bothering her. The action scenes are tolerable, also because Rohan is fit and can move around comfortably. The predictable end is nerve jarring mind numbing and mindless action. And yes, we are not writing about the films music, what with newsprint prices going up these days.
