Actress Lekha Chatterjee recently shared her festive plans with Calcutta Times. For Lekha, Pujo is as special as it is for any Bengali. She said, “Pujo is all about friends, family, and pandal hopping. I love seeing the crowd brimming with joy; it makes me happy.” Since childhood, the actress has always looked forward to visiting as many pandals as she can during this time of year.
When it comes to food, Lekha's heart lies with the delectable Pujor bhog, especially
khichuri and
labra. She also enjoys indulging in street food: “Having
phuchka,
ghugni, and ice cream is a must. Diet takes a backseat during Pujo.”
The actress believes that gifting is an essential part of the festivities. “Nowadays, we buy clothes throughout the year, so there isn't really a concept of Pujo shopping for me. However, I love giving gifts to everyone. Gifting is an essential part of Pujo, and the happiness it brings is surreal," she says.
