Voters allege EVM malfunction in Bijnor

BIJNOR: Complaints over alleged malfunctioning of EVMs led to a ruckus by voters at Kasoli village of Meerapur

Kasoli village headman Sher Mohammad said, “It is true that some women had alleged about

malfunctioning at booth number 2. The women and their family members gathered there and created ruckus. Somehow, police and I controlled the situation.”

Later, the women’s family complained to the higher authorities, who reached the village and checked the machine.

Muzaffarnagar district

magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey said, “We have received the complaint. A team checked the machine and found it to be working properly. The complaint was baseless. Someone tried to create nuisance. We are trying to contact the complainant.”
