UTTARKASHI: Stating that the upcoming Lok Sabha elections is crucial for “safety” and “integrity” of the nation, former chief minister and
BJP leader Vijay Bahuguna on Tuesday asked the people to vote for the BJP and not “waste their vote in electing a weak government”.
“The 17th Lok Sabha elections is not just any election, it is one of the important events as many world powers are keenly watching.
This election is directly linked with the safety and integrity of the nation and mandate of the public will decide the fate of India. Therefore, people have to elect the BJP, instead of wasting their vote on electing weak government,” Bhaguna said while addressing a rally in Barkot, Uttarkashi.
Slamming the Congress party, Bhaguna said that unlike the grand old party, the BJP is a party which gives opportunity to anyone irrespective of the family background.
“Contrary to other political parties, BJP is a wide ocean of opportunities where only the best swimmers get a chance to lead, irrespective of their background and family status. That is why a 'chaiwala' became the PM and a milk seller (Amit Shah) became the national president of the BJP,” Bahuguna said.
The BJP leader said that the policies and hard work of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government has boosted the reputation and stature of India in international forums.
“In its decades-long reign, the Congress party has made severe damage to the country. Looking over the history of Congress party, public has to avoid choosing weak government. Instead, they have to vote for Modi led BJP government and become part of a progressive and strong India,” Bahuguna said.
