Congress manifesto anti-national and an insult to soldiers: Amit Shah

UTTARKASHI

: BJP national president Amit Shah on Wednesday dubbed the recently-released

Congress manifesto

anti-national

’ and an insult

to soldiers who attained martyrdom for the country. Shah also asked the Congress to clarify its stand on National Conference

leader Omar Abdullah’s statement advocating the election of a separate prime minister for J&K.

Addressing a rally at Ramleela Ground in Uttarkashi, Shah said, “Congress has announced it will abolish the sedition law and dilute Armed Forces Special Powers Act if it comes to power. This is a huge threat to the security and integrity of the country. Even at the time of the Balakot air strikes when the whole country was rejoicing, Rahul baba and his anti-national team were the only

ones besides Pakistan PM Imran Khan who expressed disappointment and were asking for evidence.” He added that “the manifesto has exposed Congress's soft corner for anti-national forces, and is an insult to the martyrdom of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the safety of the country.”

Continuing his attack on Congress, Shah said, “For decades, the Gandhi family has been repeating the slogan ‘Garibi Hatao’ (remove

poverty) but they have not taken any concrete steps to implement it since they have never experienced the pain of poverty themselves. However, PM

Modi who comes from a poor background has felt the pain himself and took strong

steps to improve the standard of living of the common man by implementing

schemes like Atal Ayushman Yojana, Saubhagya, Ujjwala, Jan Dhan and many others.” Shah added that “it was

PM Modi who gave a free hand to the armed forces and allowed them to take

the revenge for the Uri and Pulwama terrorist attacks, which was never

done during Congress rule.” “PM has boosted the morale of armed forces and farmers by implementing OROP and Kisan

Samman Nidhi Yojna respectively. Therefore it is upto you to decide whether or not the country should remain in safe hands or not,” Shah said.
