Congress spreading fake news, BC Khanduri won’t campaign for son: BJP

DEHRADUN: Scrapping rumours of BJP veteran BC Khanduri joining his son’s election campaign for Congress in Pauri, the saffron party, on Monday, accused Congress of spreading fake news.
BJP spokesperson, Devendra Bhasin, said: “Major Gen (retd) Khanduri ji is our leader and a father figure to everyone in the BJP and he would always be our leader. Congress has restored to lies as they can see us winning the elections.”
Bhasin was responding to a query about the buzz that Khanduri senior is likely to join his son and Congress candidate from Pauri constituency Manish Khanduri’s campaign.
“Congress is using social media platforms to spread rumours. We would bring this to the notice of the election commission,” said Bhasin.
BJP candidate from the Pauri seat, Tirath Singh Rawat told TOI that the Congress ‘has sensed its defeat’ and hence, is spreading such lies.
Meanwhile, while addressing a rally in Dehradun last month, Manish had said that he had his father’s blessings in his decision to join the Congress.
