DEHRADUN: In a significant boost to BSP’s prospects in Uttarakhand in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, state president of Bhim Army Mahak Singh on Saturday pledged his party’s support to the Mayawati-led party.
Singh said, “On the directions of our leader, Chandrashekhar Azad, we will be supporting BSP candidates across the state. In Haridwar district alone, we have an active force of around 15,000 people.”
Notably, Haridwar has a significant Dalit population of over four lakh and Bhim Army’s support to BSP may cut into Congress and BJP’s vote share.
The announcement comes days after
Mayawati attacked Bhim Army chief at a rally in Meerut calling him ‘BJP’s mole’.
