Tamil Nadu: Congress manifesto is a superhero, says MK Stalin

DMK president M K Stalin on Friday said the Congress manifesto was a superhero and that it reflected Dravidian ideologies.


Stalin, at a meeting in Salem alongside Congress president Rahul Gandhi, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a “chowkidar” to rich businessmen like Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi and not to the poor and downtrodden.

On BJP’s manifesto, Stalin said it did not have anything to talk about.

They say India will become a super power in 2030 and the country would be economically developed by 2030. They also promised houses for all people in 2022. “But what have they done in the last five years,” he said.

Recalling former chief minister M Karunanidhi’s burial issue, Stalin said the AIADMK-government had refused to give 6ft land to bury his father. “I almost begged (chief minister) Edappadi K Palaniswamy, keeping my pride aside,” he said. “With the support of the Madras high court, Kalaignar now rests next to former chief minister Annadurai’s memorial.”

He also quoted the high court judge’s verdict, saying Kalaignar not only belonged to his family but to all the people of Tamil Nadu.
