Nomination for the first phase in Rajasthan to begin today
JAIPUR: The filing of
Voting in the 13 constituencies of Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar-Baran will be held on April 29. Of these, BJP has not declared its candidates for the Rajsamand and Barmer constituencies, while the Congress is yet to name its candidates for the Rajsamand, Ajmer, Bhilwara and Jhalawar-Baran seats.
Some high-profile fights are in the offing in the first phase of election in Rajasthan. Former Union minister and Congress leader Namo Narayan Meena is trying his luck from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Dushyant Sigh, son of former chief minister Vasundhara Raje is vying for a fourth consecutive term from Jhalawar-Baran seat on a BJP ticket.
Similarly, an interesting contest is in store at Jodhpur where Vaibhav Gehlot, son of chief minister Ashok Gehlot is making his political debut from his home turf. He is taking on Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
The Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan will be held in two phases, with the remaining 12 constituencies going to polls on May 6.

elections in which 13 out of 25 parliamentary constituencies in Rajasthan will witness polls on April 29. Rajasthan chief electoral officer Anand Kumar said nomination papers will be accepted from 11 am to 3 pm from April 2 till April 9. Scrutiny of the papers will take place on April 10 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination is April 12, he said.IPL 2025 mega auction
