National security, employment and price rise on voters' mind
SHAHPURA:
"Wounds given by Pulwama terror attack on February 14 have not been healed. They will never be healed. I have voted for security of the country. We will not compromise with security of the country," said 24-year-old Jitendra Lamba, who is Rohitash Lamba's brother, who was martyred in Pulwama terror attack. The voters in the village cast votes with enthusiasm, even elderly of the village braving heat came out of their houses. Ninety-four-year-old Goma Ram, a farmer, said, "I have voted keeping in mind the rising price rise. Everything has become so expensive."
Besides, a visually impaired Kajod Jat, was sitting at a polling booth waiting for some relative to cast vote. "I am unable to see the EVM and there is no braille available, so booth level officers allowed him to cast vote with support of his relative."
The youths of the village also turned out to cast votes. "Unemployment is a major issue here. A large number of youths are preparing for recruitment examination in the army. Around 80% of youth here is unemployed. Nationalism and
