Congress fulfilled promises on farm loan waiver: Sachin Pilot

JAIPUR: Deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot said that after the Congress government came to power in the state, it had fulfilled the promise of

farm loan waiver

, crop procurement and unemployment allowance. But Modi government has no achievement to showcase, he said.


He was speaking at an election meeting in favour of party candidate Subash Maharia in Sikar on Wednesday. Pilot said, five years ago, Modi had promised to end corruption, unemployment and terrorism. He had also promised to double income of farmers, Make in India and Digital India etc. But unemployment rate in the country is now highest in the last 45 years,” he said.

Pilot said, the Prime Minister had promised Rs 15 lakh but none got 15 paise so far. Modi is not speaking on the rise in prices of cylinders, petrol and diesel. Rather, he is now talking about Hindustan-Pakistan to distract all the peoples’ attention. But, the public is not going to be swayed by such tactics and bring back the UPA government and a new prime minister by voting in favour of the Congress, he said.

Describing Sikar as the land of bravery and harmony, the pilot also called the prime minister a threat to

democracy

. He said, some BJP leaders like Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s comment on Ali and Bajrang Bali, Pilot said they are trying to polarise the voters by vitiating the communal situation in the country.

Describing the Congress's symbol ‘hand’ as the old identity of the country, the pilot appealed to the people to vote for the Congress to complete the link of Congress government in the state and at the Centre.
