BJP pips Congress in holding Rajasthan rallies
JAIPUR: For
The BJP has claimed that 298 rallies were organised in the state, while the rival Congress party held over 250 such rallies. BJP’s two heavyweights — Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP party chief Amit Shah frequently organised their rallies and events in the state. Since, Rajasthan contributes 25 parliamentary seats, the state has a lot to offer to the two political parties vying to gain maximum seats. Congress president Rahul Gandhi too frequently visited the state. In the second and last phase of the elections, he addressed rallies in Dholpur, Bharatpur, Jaipur and Churu.
BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath addressed rallies to add more colour to an already frenzied election season. Both the leaders addressed four rallies each. However, BJP state president Madan Lal Saini too looked busy as he addressed 81 rallies during the election campaigning for the party.
For the Congress, experienced leader Anand Sharma addressed rallies in
Lok Sabha
election campaigning in the state, about 500 public rallies and events were organised by political leaders of the BJP and Congress to set election mood in the state. The rallies and events, which started after the nomination of candidates in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in the state, came to a halt on Saturday.The BJP has claimed that 298 rallies were organised in the state, while the rival Congress party held over 250 such rallies.
