About 1,000 paramilitary personnel to take care of Lok Sabha polling in Jaipur

JAIPUR: With around 1,163 sensitive polling booths in Jaipur and Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituencies, the district administration would get around 1,000 paramilitary personnel for security purposes during the polls, scheduled in May.
More than 40.79 lakh voters are going to exercise their franchise in Jaipur district on May 6, which is an increase of 58,174 voters in the district since the publication of final roll on February 22.

The number of vulnerable booths in Jaipur Rural are 14. There are 52,469 young voters in Jaipur city and 54,823 in Jaipur Rural.

“Each assembly constituency in Jaipur would be provided around 50-60 paramilitary personnel. There would be approxmately 1,000 security personnel in the district,” said district collector and election officer Jagroop Singh Yadav.
“Web casting and videography would be done in all the sensitive and vulnerable polling booths. Micro observers or central forces would also be deputed in these booths,” he added. In Jaipur Rural, there are more than 19.52 lakh voters, whereas in Jaipur constituency, there are 21.27 lakh voters. There are 488 critical/sensitive booths in Jaipur Rural and 675 in Jaipur. In Jaipur there are 1,873 polling stations, while there are 2,025 stations in Jaipur Rural.
The total electors in Jaipur as per the final roll published on February 22 was 40.21lakh.
