262 female polling stations in Rajasthan, highest in Jaipur

JAIPUR: Rajasthan will have 262 female polling stations with Jaipur having the most of them, 50 stations, for the upcoming

Lok Sabha

elections. Apart from that, there will be 224 model polling stations in 200 assembly constituencies in the state with

Jaipur district

having 26 stations. In the all-women polling

booths

, apart from the poll party, even the constables would be women, said Deputy CEO Vinod Pareek.


Among other districts, Alwar would have 11 female polling booths and 11 model polling booths. Sawai Madhopur would have 20 female polling stations and Pali would have 12. Ajmer, Hanumangarh,

Jodhpur

and Nagaur would have 10 female booths each. Apart from that Pali would have 12 model polling stations, Udaipur 11 and Hanumangarh, Jodhpur and Nagaur would have 10 stations each.

The features of a model polling booth include: good condition building with fresh wall painting, easy access to the building, good quality furniture for polling personnel and polling agents, voting compartments of fibre glass, display boards/signages, provision of basic minimum facilities such as electricity (generator/

petromax

as standby arrangement), separate toilets, drinking water, shades, ramps and wheel chairs for voters with disability, voter assistance booth manned by booth level officer (BLO) with a copy of electoral roll in alphabetical order and undistributed voter’s slip and other facilities such as red carpet welcome of the voters and flowers being distributed to them.
