Ticket to Santokh my political murder: Kaypee

on Thursday after getting the party ticket, former Jalandhar MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee called denial of nomination his “political murder”.


Speaking to TOI on Thursday evening, Kaypee said: “It is my political murder and I shall not forgive the murderers. We shall protest strongly.” Asked about his future course of action, the ex-MP said that he would sit down with his family, friends and supporters before taking any further decision. “All of them are very angry,” he added.

Taking a pot shot at Chaudhary family, he said, “A family that made no sacrifice got three tickets, while another family which sacrificed so much is being denied even a single ticket.” While Chaudhary is MP, his son Vikramjeet Singh contested and lost from Philaur in the 2017 assembly election and his nephew Chaudhary Surinder Singh is MLA from Kartarpur, the former MP explained. Kaypee’s father Darshan Singh Kaypee, senior leader of the Congress in Doaba region, was killed during militancy.

Kaypee was Jalandhar MP from 2009-14 but in the 2014 polls he was shifted to

Hoshiarpur

and the ticket from Jalandhar was given to Chaudhary Santokh Singh. While Kaypee lost, Santokh won. Then in the 2017 assembly election, Kaypee, who earlier represented Jalandhar South (now West), was shifted to

Adampur

, where he lost again.

Meanwhile, a road show organized by Santokh from Jalandhar Railway Station. Hundreds of Congress workers carrying party flags had reached Jalandhar railway platform. the MP claimed that he was not facing any completion as both SAD and AAP had fielded outsiders.
