Fatehgarh Sahib constituency of Punjab Lok Sabha Election 2024: Date of voting, result, candidates list, main parties, schedule

NEW DELHI: Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, one of the 13 parliamentary constituencies in Punjab, will vote in Phase 7 of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1. Vote counting for this constituency is scheduled for June 4. This constituency is reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and includes the entire Fatehgarh Sahib district, part of Ludhiana district, and part of Sangrur district.
The Fatehgarh Sahib seat comprises nine Assembly segments: Bassipathana, Fatehgarhsahib, Amloh, Khanna, Samrala, Sahnewal, Payal, Raikot, and Amargarh.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Amar Singh from the Indian National Congress (INC) won the seat with a margin of 93,898 votes. Amar Singh received 411,651 votes, amounting to a 42.00% vote share, defeating Darbara Singh Guru from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), who got 317,753 votes (32.19%).
In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Harinder Singh Khalsa from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the seat with 367,293 votes and a 35.62% vote share. The INC candidate, Sadhu Singh, was the runner-up with 313,149 votes (30.37%), losing by a margin of 54,144 votes.
In the upcoming elections, the AAP has fielded Gurpreet Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Gejja Ram, and the Congress has fielded Amar Singh from the Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency.
