Another SAD councillor joins Congress in Bathinda

BATHINDA: The Congress on Wednesday got the support of SAD councillor Shinder Kaur and her husband Bant Singh, who is a former councillor of the Bathinda Municipal Corporation. Shinder is the sitting councillor from ward number 40 while her husband was one in the previous house.
Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal’s wife Veenu Badal and District Congress Committee president Arun Wadhawan welcomed the couple into the Congress.Before Shinder, nine councillors have already joined the Congress in the last few months.
Shinder alleged that the SAD-BJP-controlled municipal corporation had failed miserably in ensuring development in her ward and the entire city. “So I decided to join the Congress,” she said.
Welcoming the couple in the Congress, Veenu said, “The SAD-BJP combine is a sinking ship and many on board this ship are deserting it and joining the Congress.”
