Congratulating the PM for coming down heavily on Abdullah and Mufti on the issue of Article 370, Saamna reminded Modi of the compulsions of power politics. "It often happens that we seek Abdullah's support to rustle up the seat arithmetic in the Lok Sabha when his stance on Article 370 has remained unchanged all these years... This is nationalism of convenience. Such cosmetic patriotism should stop," it stated.

"Whatever is true of Abdullah is true of Mufti as well. She has said Kashmir will no longer be an integral part of India if Article 370 is scrapped. However, she enjoyed the chief ministership of J&K on BJP's support. Her anti-national views in connection with J&K are well-known. Yet, the BJP befriended Mufti's party. The Sena had opposed the unholy BJP-PDP alliance," added Saamna.
