Congress-NCP failed to teach lesson to Pak after ’08 attack: Devendra Fadnavis
BULDHANA/AKOLA: Launching scathing attack on Congress-NCP alliance,
“They (Congress-NCP) only condemned the dastardly attack, complained to the United Nations and sent dossiers to Pakistan. This is like children who complain to elders in case they fight among themselves. This nation of 125 crore people did nothing, despite Pakistan-backed terrorists killed hundreds of innocents,” he said.
Addressing a rally at Chikhli in Buldhana, which would go to polls on April 18, the CM stressed on the fact that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi displayed the guts to send forces into Pakistan territory and kill its mercenaries during the first surgical strike after Uri attack.
“He (Modi) again displayed courage when he asked
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, the CM questioned NYAY scheme of the Congress which promises to provide Rs72,000 per year to every poor citizen. “When asked by the media from where he would bring money to fund the scheme, Gandhi had no answer. When same query was posed to former finance minister P Chidambaram, he said from the country’s exchequer,” the CM said. “Modi is working hard to build country’s finances by recovering black money and Congress wants to splurge that,” Fadnavis claimed.
Flaying the opposition, the CM said when Balakot attacks took place, the US, Russia and even China confirmed the damage, except Pakistan and Congress-NCP. “Both have asked for proof. Had they asked for proof earlier, we would have tied these leaders with the rocket and sent them to Balakot to witness the damage.”
Fadnavis also took potshots at Congress-NCP manifesto which advocated restarting talks with Pakistan despite the country continuing to attack Indian citizens. “These parties want to remove AFSPA and
Sedition law is used against those who conspire against the nation, like Maoists. A few students in JNU had shouted slogans for dividing the nation and were arrested, but Congress-NCP supported them.”
Continuing his attack on Gandhi family, the CM said India’s first PM Jawaharlal Nehru assured to remove poverty, then same was repeated by Indira Gandhi, Rajiv, Sonia and now Rahul, but nothing changed.
“Sharad Pawar, who was captain of opposition, was planning to become opening batsman by contesting polls. But when he assessed the reality, he withdrew,” Fadnavis said.
The CM said BJP-Sena government has spent Rs2,609 crore on various projects against just Rs255 crore by the Cong-NCP government in their 15-year tenure. “They forced closure of (Buldhana) cooperative bank, but we revived it by providing Rs250 crore. Nitin Gadkari also released Rs10,000 crore for completion of various irrigation projects like Jigaon and Rs18 crore for roads. Within three years, all projects here would be completed,” the CM said.
Besides Jadhav, MLAs Shashikant Khedekar, Chainsukh Sancheti, Sanjay Kute, Akash Fundkar, and Sanjay Raimulkar were present.
