MUMBAI: The
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has not fielded any candidate in Lok Sabha polls, but its member Anil Hebbar is contesting as an
Independent
from Mumbai North-East constituency.
Hebbar had been the campaign manager of activist Medha Patkar, who had contested the 2014 Parliamentary polls from this constituency and secured 76,451 votes. “I am confident of getting these votes...and much more,” said Hebbar, who will be fighting on core issues like closure of dumping grounds with three of the sites located in this constituency—at
Deonar
, Mulund and Kanjurmarg. “It is appalling that a single constituency takes the whole garbage of Mumbai,” Hebbar told TOI. “I expect support from activist Anjali Damania, who will campaign for me.”
