THIRUVANTHAPURAM: BJP state president
PS Sreedharan Pillai
here on Tuesday said
Congress president Rahul Gandhi
is coming to Wayanad as a political refugee.
Pillai said the BJP would expose Congress for its decision to seek a safe win for the party president with the help of (UDF ally) Indian Union Muslim League. "The BJP is not finding fault with Gandhi for choosing a seat where minorities are the real majority, but criticism is against the Congress party president choosing to fight the election from a seat where the
Muslim League
has an imposing presence," Pillai said.
Pillai said the communal nature of the Muslim League cannot be denied on any count. "Jawaharlal Nehru had once called the Muslim League a dead horse. Indira Gandhi had refused to include Muslim League leaders in her cabinet. The leader of the same Congress party is now trying to win a Lok Sabha seat with the support of the IUML. Nothing worse than this could have happened to the grand old party," he told reporters at a meet the press programme here.
Pillai said the candidature of
Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad has pre-empted the possibility of a national alliance between Congress and left parties in the post poll scenario, Sreedharan Pillai said. "There is no sanctity for the rhetoric that Congress and the left would forge an alliance against the BJP. Now they are fighting each other. There is no formidable force or alliance against Narendra Modi government. BJP would win the elections with a resounding margin," he said.
