PM Narendra Modi to campaign in Kerala on Friday
KOZHIKODE: Prime minister Narendra Modi will arrive for
Party workers from Kozhikode, Vadakara and Malappuram constituencies, besides general public, are expected to participate in the rally.
BJP national president Amit Shah will also come to Wayanad for election campaign, the date of which will be announced later.
Addressing a news conference detailing Narendra Modi’s election campaign here, BJP national executive member P K Krishnadas on Wednesday said that some forces are trying to create another division in the country, raising the allegation of ‘neglect of South India.’
Rahul Gandhi is the candidate of jihadi forces and the elements that are responsible for the creation of Pakistan, he said.
“Rahul can choose to contest anywhere in the country if he feels unsafe in Amethi. But for that he should not divide India into South and North to ensure a seat in Parliament. The tragedy is that it comes from a party that ruled the nation for over 60 years,” Krishnadas said.
If it was Jinnah who sowed the seeds of idea of partitioning the country, it was Communist leader P C Joshi who gave a theoretical base for the demand, Krishnadas said. “And Nehru finally implemented it. The Muslim League-Congress- Communist alliance is again taking shape in Wayanad,” he said.
Those who are criticising Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath for his comments on the IUML should remember what Jawaharlal Nehru had said about the party.
It was the Congress which insisted that C H Muhammad Koya should give up his Muslim identity to become Speaker of Kerala assembly.
The BJP leader said that if the Congress is seriously concerned about South India, the party should have come forward to protect the customs of Sabarimala, which is a major pilgrim centre of lakhs of people from South India.
“BJP has promised to protect the customs and traditions of Sabarimala in its manifesto. Rahul Gandhi should make it clear as to what is his stand on the issue,” he said.
Krishnadas also demanded independent inquiry into the allegations against UDF candidate M K Raghavan.
